    so much misinformation on the web. in your 'story' on your website you claim the prefrontal cortex regulates emotions - if you new anything about neuroscience you would know this is incorrect. by the way, your fancy website hasn't convinced me. just another person making money out of peoples misery.

      Thank you for your comment. I appreciate your engagement with the topic. It seems there might be some misunderstandings about the neuroscience of emotional regulation. While the nervous system as a whole plays a role, the prefrontal cortex is indeed crucial in this process. For more accurate information, I recommend seeking out peer-reviewed scientific literature rather than relying on social media. To support those in need, I provide plenty of free resources, including a Peer Support Facebook group with trained admin staff. If you would like referenced evidence of the prefrontal cortex's role in emotional regulation, feel free to email me for a detailed download. It's important to counteract the misinformation that is prevalent on the web. Thank you for your understanding and for seeking out the best information for your mental health journey.

      you can be as sarcastic as you like, bitterness will eat you up internally, I recommend some flexible thinking along the way, not everyone can be summed up in a short video. I've actually used naturopaths, acupuncture, and so many more natural processes to help with my recovery over the years when needed. Acupuncture is fantastic for me! These particular products are ones that I've found that are sustaining my brain recovery really well. Definitely grateful for having choices throughout the years too!

    I’ve just come across your channel Linda and I’ve been bingeing on your videos - everyone needs to know this information!!! Listening to you is so validating and helping me process my own experiences more. I’ve been on this intentional healing journey for a decade and have come across many helpful individuals who have helped me immensely. You have such a clear way of explaining everything, and I thank you for sharing your wisdom online. I too moved across the country (NZ) to remove myself from my family of origin - that was the beginning of my slow breaking away from my unhealthy family system and even slower process of self discovery.

    Does Sexual abuse leads to sexual addiction? Why would someone in the family sexual abuse you as a child

    • @ComplexPtsdRecovery
      @ComplexPtsdRecovery 4 місяці тому

      childhood sexual abuse may lead to sexual acting out, sexual addiction or drive you in the opposite direction of shutting down sexually - or anything in between. It depends on the individual completely. I don't have a definitive answer why someone in the family would abuse you as a child. I've seen so much of it, in so many family's, that for me, it can sometimes seem like it's been an acceptable part of family life. Acceptable in that no one ever questions it. I have no idea why people choose to do something that happened to them on repeat.

    5:11 It's wild that you say that story about cleaning the bathroom and it never being good enough because the EXACT SAME THING happened with me and my mom. I'd ask her how she wanted me to clean things and she would always tell me "figure it out"...even though I clearly wasn't able to figure it out, and even more so because I was ADHD and she was fully aware of this fact.

    Minimizing: The reason why I minimize my CPTSD symptoms is other people (the very few people in my life) run away if my CPTSD "leaks out" in any way when I am around them. It is almost as if there is an unstated rule that when I am around them I have to act as if there is no CPTSD. It takes a loooong time for many of us to know CPTSD. It seems like it will take a decade before anyone around me will even begin to believe it, see it, and care about it. I am not sure I have ever had anyone in my life who is willing to love me with my CPTSD. People preferred me when I was over-helper, over-accommodater, self-minimimizer.

    Linda this is going to be a hard question - but would you tell your EI parent that their partner (that theyre still with) molested you as a teen? I felt then like she wouldnt believe me and i feel like now I'd sinply be passing the hurt onto her...ive been blocking the abuse out the last 25 years and im over running 😢

    • @ComplexPtsdRecovery
      @ComplexPtsdRecovery 5 місяців тому

      My heart goes out to you because I understand what you've been through and the never ending thought circles going around in your mind. My answer is the most important person to heal first is you. Sexual abuse takes significant time to heal from and it's only along the way that you can begin to determine if you want to say something, or not. It's also going to depend on your family dynamics. If your parent has continually shown you that their allegiance is to their partner, then we have to take on board that information before we make any decision. We may also need to decide if by telling our parent do we stand the chance of them not speaking to us, and how do we feel about that happening. There's so many aspects you'll need to tae into consideration before you make a decision. Be sure and sit with someone who is not emotionally involved to help you wok out what decisions are going to be right for you both today and into the future.
